MANCHESTER SUPPORT GROUP
Lymphoma Association support groups are made up of individuals who are, or have been affected in any way by lymphoma; whether patients, family, friends or carers.
The aim of a group is to provide mutual support for members in a form most appropriate for the needs of those members, as determined by them. Group meetings will occasionally include a variety of medical and non-medical speakers and social events, and may involve fundraising and awareness-raising for the Lymphoma Association.
The group is an integral part of the Association and receives assistance from the helpline team, but is run by the members. Many groups are actively supported by a local health care professional; often a specialist nurse in oncology or haematology.
If you feel that you might benefit from the support these meetings can provide we would love to see you at our next meeting, details are as follows:

ABOUT THE GROUP
The Manchester Lymphoma Support Group has been meeting for the last eleven years. We are a friendly group of people who live with a diagnosis of Lymphoma either as a patient, family member or friend.
We meet at the Christie Hospital on a Wednesday evening five times a year. Usually there are approximately twenty attendees, including regulars and new members. Our meetings are informal and there is a good sense of camaraderie! We are a very friendly group of people and no-one is under any pressure to speak.
We find it helpful to talk together, providing mutual support by sharing our experiences, as we are all in similar situations. We share useful information from the Lymphoma Association as well as our own sourced information such as publications, website links, support services, helpful organisations and valuable contacts. Our group emphasis is on friendship and support.
The Manchester Lymphoma Support Group is not a fundraising group, although some members organise fundraising initiatives independently.
